Tenri School offers exchange programmes through foreign students from Japan and America. Having the Japanese language background, this makes it easier for the pupils to associate themselves with the foreign environment. For the last two years, the school had a chance to take some pupils to Japan. The exchange programmes with the Japanese counterparts went a notch higher when Japan leading T.V station sponsored some pupils for a one week tour of Japan in early 2015. While in Japan the pupils managed to tour various places of educational interests as well as visiting Fuji T.V. Station headquarters in Tokyo. They also got to interact with pupils in Satoe Primary school in Saitama prefecture Japan. This helped them deepen their knowledge of Japanese culture and strengthening the relationships. The tour was an eye opener to the pupils giving them impetus in their persuasion of exploring and achieving the international consciousness which the young pupils definitely require. “Visiting a distant land is a dream come true. For the six of us it was one of the best experience we have had in our lives. The people of Japan are very humble, polite and kind. Tasting new delicious foods like ‘Tempura’ ‘sushi’ was such an encounter. I enjoyed meeting new students and knowing the culture of Japanese’s. The most joyous day for us was when we were playing in the snow and climbing the sky tree. It was an amazing trip.”
