We are proud to share the report of our most recent educational tour to Japan, which took place from July to August 2025, where our junior school students experienced diverse cultural and educational aspects.

- Key Activities: Cultural exchange, disaster prevention learning, historical heritage visits, modern infrastructure study, and official courtesy visits.
1. Exploring History and Architecture at World Heritage Himeji Castle
Our students visited the majestic Himeji Castle, a designated UNESCO World Heritage site. Gazing up at the pristine white main keep, they were amazed by its grandeur and scale. The students learned about the traditional wooden architectural techniques that have preserved this historical landmark for centuries, deepening their understanding of Japan's history and craftsmanship.
2. Vital Lessons in Safety: Disaster Reduction Learning and Fire Station Visit
To foster safety awareness and resilience, the tour included a visit to the Disaster Reduction and Human Renovation Institution in Kobe. Through realistic simulation displays, the students experienced earthquake simulations and learned the critical importance of preparedness and protecting human lives. Additionally, they visited a local fire station to observe modern fire engines and rescue systems, learning about teamwork and the dedication of emergency services. Their serious and inquisitive approach to these safety lessons was truly commendable.
3. Experiencing "Awa Odori" Traditional Dance & Local Media Spotlight
In Tokushima Prefecture, the students participated in a cultural workshop to learn the traditional Japanese folk dance, "Awa Odori." Moving to the lively rhythms of traditional drums and flutes, they danced with bright smiles, experiencing Japan's rich cultural heritage through movement. This joyful exchange was widely covered and broadcast by the local TV station "Shikoku TV," making our students a highlight of the local news and earning warm praise from the community.
4. Witnessing Modern Infrastructure and Advanced Technology
The students observed the engineering marvel of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, one of the world's longest suspension bridges. In Tokyo, they visited the Tokyo Skytree, the tallest self-supporting broadcasting tower in the world, to view the metropolitan area. Seeing how Japan integrates historical preservation with state-of-the-art technology provided our students with immense inspiration and a vision for future development.

5. Heartwarming Exchanges: "Together for Progress"
During an official welcome gathering, students stood with both Japanese and Kenyan flags under the banner of "Together for Progress." This event symbolized the strong bonds of friendship between our school and our hosts in Japan. Despite language barriers, our students connected deeply with local supporters. We express our deepest gratitude to everyone in Japan who welcomed us so warmly.
A Message to Our Parents
This educational tour is far more than just a sightseeing trip. By stepping outside their comfort zones, experiencing a different culture, practicing discipline in a new environment, and observing advanced technologies, our learners have developed greater independence, leadership, and a broader global mindset. The students who returned from Japan have grown significantly and are now filled with a renewed passion for learning and a desire to contribute positively to Kenyan society.
